I'm new
You are welcome at Berean, but this note should not be your first clue. My hope is that you have already discovered a genuine, healthy, and generous welcome in person. We specialize in people; from the front door, to the nursery, to the worship experience. We have many finely tuned programs, a very accessible and useful campus, and a great location. But, these are mere amenities to our central focus, which is people like you. We appreciate your visit, and we hope to move from welcoming you to knowing you.
Berean Baptist Church seeks to embody the “Living Church.” By that phrase we are saying that we want to be a people whose identity is found in our exaltation and worship of the living God, not in a program or a facility. We worship God best when we honor His Son, our living Lord, Jesus Christ. You will find here a community whose central passion is to live under the grace and guidance of the one, true God who loves and calls people to Himself.
We seek to be a Living Church where the hurts and hopes of real people can be embraced. Far from being a perfect or exclusionary elite, we are a congregation carrying every conceivable burden, and humbly enjoying innumerable blessings. We are people who believe that along with Himself, God also gives us a community, a new family, and intimate friendships. It is our desire, as well as our structure, to create a place where you can fit, belong, and feel at home. In such a context, you will grow and flourish both spiritually and emotionally.
You are welcome to join us on a journey toward biblical literacy and spiritual maturity. Our name, “Berean” comes from the experience of the earliest believers in Acts 17:11, where they examined the Scriptures as their straightedge of truth. We believe that same principle is the key to living effectively in the twenty-first century as well. We do our best to apply biblical truth in a gracious and accessible manner. Everybody here has some next step toward which he or she can grow. Nobody has arrived. We are just people like you.
