Berean hosts periodic special programs throughout the year.

  • vacation bible school (VBS)

    • An action-packed week of community outreach, focusing on Bible stories, drama, worship music, memorizing Bible verses and more. Our outdoor evening carnival includes rides, games, a terrific treasure chest, and good things to eat like mini-donuts. Tickets to spend at the carnival are earned through memorizing, attending and bringing friends. Children and students age 4 through grade 6 from Berean and the community are invited and are encouraged to bring friends as we express the Good News of Jesus to our neighborhoods. We do not charge for Vacation Bible School.

    • In 2010, VBS will be held from Monday, July 26, through Friday, July 30, from 6:30 to 8:30 each evening. Pre-registration starts two weeks beforehand on our website, but you can also register beginning at 6:00 at Berean each evening.

  • bethlehem birthday

    • Experience HIStory – Bethlehem Birthday is December 5, 2009, from 9:00 am - 1:00 pm. Hands-on activities bring the Christmas story to life for children age 4 through 10 and their families. Children are accompanied by one or both parents through interactive stations where they can experience different aspects of Bethlehem, like a carpentry shop, a weaving mill, a candle shop and a pottery shop. Each station includes an activity for the children and their parents to enjoy together. Our desire is to reach children and their families from our community, so invite friends and neighbors to hear about the greatest gift of all time – God’s gift of Jesus. We want to honor and celebrate the true meaning of Christmas – Jesus Christ. (This free event occurs every other year on the 1st Saturday of December.)

  • fall festival

    • Each year Berean conducts a Halloween alternative activity for the children of our church and the community. This includes a mini-carnival in the Gym, a short “seasonal lesson” in the Worship Center, and a “candy parade” in the corridors. Because many children are drawn to the Halloween event because of the anticipation of candy and costumes, we encourage them to wear costumes of Bible characters or friendly elements of God’s great creation. Each family is asked to bring at least one bag of candy.
