Depth Charge & Berean’s Bible Institute
We provide classes on specific topics of study. The overall program is called Depth Charge for through the classes we help participants to go deeper in their study and get charged up. These courses happen on Sunday nights and are offered in two semesters, one in the fall and one in the winter/spring. Each course is taught by people with a great understanding in their area of focus. Please look below to find out more about the various courses offered this year. Depth Charge Classes
Crown Financial In-depth Course
In-depth study on biblical principles of saving, giving and investing. Trained counselors will be available to help you take the practical steps God impresses on you.
Parenting is Heart Work
Parenting is Heart Work, a video series with break-out sessions for discussion, is filled with real-life examples as well as practical suggestions for parents of children of every age. This is a great tool for parents! The authors' practical approach recognizes the uniqueness of each child as it guides parents in going beyond modifying behavior to intentionally reaching a child's heart to facilitate growth towards a “heart after the Lord.”
Prayer Squad for Kids (Grades 1-6)
Children will learn and practice prayer as a lifestyle, going beyond prayer as a “before dinner and before bedtime ritual.” Our goal is to help them build a stronger relationship with God by learning how prayer can be a personal part of their life. We intend for our 75-minute session to include; a 20-minute teaching time with Pastor Paul or a special guest, about 40 minutes praying with kids in age-separated groups, led by a parent who would help them answer questions about the teaching (5 minutes), discuss their prayer requests (5 minutes), journal (10 minutes), and spend about 20 minutes in conversational small group prayer (5 or 6 kids per modeler).
Stephen Ministry Training
Would you like to become a Stephen Minister?
A Stephen Minister provides confidential, Christian care to someone who is struggling in his or her life. Stephen Ministers care by listening, supporting, encouraging, and praying. We are offering a training class for those who’d like to become Stephen Ministers. This requires a total of 20 weeks of training: September 14—November 16, and January 18—March 22, 2009. An application and interview are required before entering the training class. Applications are due by August 31.
Berean’s Leadership Development Track
New this Fall ~ Berean’s Leadership Development Track is designed to develop Christians to serve and lead others. Twelve courses will be taught over the next three years, with two in the fall and two in the winter/spring. Courses will range in topics on understanding the Bible and theology, leadership skills, ministry skills, and outreach skills. Curriculum will be from Evangelical Training Association; to learn more about this organization visit www.etaworld.org.
